Abstract
Implant overdenture is currently a reliable alternative treatment for complete denture in an edentulous jaw. When an edentulous patient has good bone quality and quantity, a minimum of four well-spaced implants are often recommended for an implant-supported overdenture. Several clinical reports have demonstrated successful results with a maxillary overdenture supported by four unsplinted implant attachments. Self-adjusting magnet attachments have convenient clinical procedures and maintenance care compared to other solitary type systems; moreover, they have the ability to compensate for gradual bone resorption. For the rehabilitation of an edentulous atrophic maxilla with four unsplinted self-adjusting magnet attachment of implants supporting an overdenture, it may be effective compared to that of other conventional treatments. Moreover, further controlled clinical studies are needed to evaluate the effects and complications.
